One of the hardest things for me about gigging is the recovery. We have to be “on” so late in the day, and I find it a real challenge to wind down after I get home. Between loading up on extra energy right before I head out, and the excitement of rehearsing and performing, and needing to stay alert on the drive home, I always come home wired. It’s tough to turn your brain off when it’s been working for peak performance!
Winding Down
One of my favorite things to do when I get home down is to load up my diffuser with Lavender or Stress Away, make a nice cup of tea, and read before I turn in for the night. If it’s not too late, I find that a relaxing bath with Lavender or Stress Away mixed with Epsom Salts helps to melt the tension away.

You know that feeling you get when you wake up after a long week of late nights? Sluggish, burned out, whatever you want to call it, you’re not at your best. Managing a busy performance schedule can be exhausting, so we need to keep our bodies in top shape to stay healthy.
I had just started using essential oils, and I kept hearing about this drink called NingXia Red. Everyone was going crazy about it. I wasn’t sure about adding something new to my routine, but YOU GUYS!!!!! IT DOES THINGS!!! I have so much more natural stamina now, and I only drink 1-2 ounces – per day! That’s all it takes. I love to add a drop of Lemon EO into my “shot” for extra refreshment.
With NingXia, you probably won’t feel an energy spike like you’d get from coffee. For me, it feels like I had a great nap or a really restful night’s sleep. On days that I forget to drink my NingXia or accidentally run out (GASP!!!!) I can definitely feel the difference. So, we really try not to run out of NingXia Red in our house.

It’s insanely easy to whip up this cream and use it whenever and wherever you need it. You can even bring a small container of it with you to have on hand!
DIY Muscle Soothing Cream Recipe
• 4 drops of PanAway Essential Oil
• 4 drops of Frankincense Essential Oil
• 4 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil
• 4 drops of Copaiba Essential Oil
• ½ cup Coconut oil
In a 4 oz. glass jar, add your softened or liquefied coconut oil. Then add your essential oils and stir gently. After the coconut oil is hardened (you could stick the jar in the fridge for a few minutes if your house is warm), your cream is easy to apply.
